Sir Alf, it's really not just liberals who think they have a duty of care to those they meet who are suffering. I was raised in a traditional english methodist family like the vast majority of british people were, part of that upbringing and part of the English psyche is that you care for other people.
It appears to me that people are rushing to abandon our traditional values to replace them with self self interest.
Of course the situation is difficult and some men take advantage of the situation but we have to deal with it, just saying "I don't like it, it shouldn't happen" doesn't answer anything at all really.
The rights of women being defended on theses boards is amusing though you must admit "grrrrr, your mrs, I need a photo to wank over grrrr".

Why is it the natural recourse of 'left wingers' to accuse 'right wingers' of not being the brightest bulb? Genuine question.
I see this rather frequently when those of a leftist bent have their ideology confronted by fact - is it that they are thick on account of not seeing the light?
Why not be more like Ray Winstone or Kronic - straight up and down worthwhile reads that whilst I disagree with them politically, will concede when the left is talking bollocks just as many of us here on the right do when our lot have it wrong

I can understand and sympathise with Syrians wanting to get out of their country but politicians and do good liberals need to recognise that
Islamic culture and European secular norms are not compatible.
Politicians and others believe that all Middle Eastern and South Asian refugees will conform to the European way of life and values. They wont.

Sadly I think it cuts through to the truth.
The politicians are idealistic in the extreme.
What happened in Cologne happens regularly in Pakistan apparently. Men have no shame, never feel guilty, never show remorse about the way they treat women in that part of the world. They abused women in Cologne with absolute contempt for the European culture, its norms and its people.
Its not about how the women were dressed

And that's what it comes down to. This is a clash of cultures and the media and pro-refugee activists have badly lied to people, and continue to lie to people, by depicting this as a choice between accepting some very nice Syrian and Iraqi families who just want to be Europeans, Germans, British or Americans. etc.. and being racists.
Those are not the choices here.
It's a choice between setting up hostile enclaves redolent of the cultural values that not only include terror, but the abuse of women and young girls, or using some common sense.
The German, Brtish and European media is still churning out the expected pro-refugee propaganda (refugees hand out flowers to women in Cologne) but people have had their wake-up call.
Europe is committing suicide.

There are a lot of people displaced from their destroyed cities turning up looking for somewhere safe to live. It's one of the major tragedy's of my lifetime, it's a big situation that needs big people with big plans.

Unemployment benefit/jobskeers etc is only a relatively small proportion of welfare spending.
In work benefits, housing benefit, NHS care, education, police and social service spending dwarfs the unemployment costs. I would like to see a calculation made on how proportionate these costs are for immigrants from Asia and africa.
